E-Flight Academy introduces the most sustainable flight instructor training
E-Flight Academy proves that electric flying is also a feasible and effective way for training as a flight instructor ( FI Course). With 97% of the flight hours performed on the Pipistrel Velis Electro, the first and only electric certified aircraft in the world, E-Flight sets new standards for sustainability in aviation training.
Electric flying: A quiet and clean future for flight schools
The Flight Instructor (FI) Course of E-Flight Academy primarily uses electric aircraft, which results in a significant reduction in both noise pollution and CO2 emissions. This approach not only demonstrates the practical applicability of electric flying for flight instruction but also serves as inspiration for the entire aviation sector.
The E-Flight Academy approach
With the mission to make the aviation industry more sustainable, E-Flight Academy aims to create a quiet and clean airspace where everyone can fly without flight shame. Since its establishment 2.5 years ago, E-Flight Academy has attracted more than 55 students and established collaborations with organizations such as KLM Flight Academy, LVNL, and the Ministry of Defence. These collaborations emphasize the unique learning experience and their contribution to a cleaner and quieter aviation.
Matthijs Collard, co-founder of E-Flight Academy, emphasizes the dual benefits of electric flying within the FI Course:
"Training with electric aircraft offers exceptional silence during flight hours and significantly reduces environmental impact, while students are prepared for a future where sustainability and technological advancement are central."
Inspiration for other flight training programs
E-Flight Academy proves that sustainable flight instruction is possible and invites other flight schools to develop similar sustainable initiatives. The goal is to collectively contribute to a significant change in the aviation sector, aimed at reducing environmental impact and embracing technological innovations for a sustainable future.
