Frequently Asked Questions
- How long does the course normally take?
Together with the student, E-Flight Academy will strive to complete the flight training for a CPL(A) in approximately 8 to 10 weeks. However, in most cases the duration of the course will be determined by student availability, so it may take longer. CPL students are required to complete the state exams before beginning the CPL(A) course.
The practical part of the CPL course must be completed no later than 18 months and in any case within the validity period of the theoretical state exams (36 months after successful completion of the last state exam). All phases of flight instruction are followed in a continuous training program organized by E-Flight Academy.
The flight training in the overview shows the minimum required training. Each training flight has a completion standard that must be achieved before moving on to the next training flight. In the event that the required standard is not achieved within the minimum allotted time, it will be necessary to repeat all or part of the training flight, which will likely result in an extension of the course beyond the minimum hours. Mandatory exercises not flown within a syllabus flight are automatically added to the next instructional flight by the IT system.
- Is the CPL exam included in the price?
The CPL skill test is not included in the price. An exam has a standard level that needs to be demonstrated. Therefore an exam will not always take the same amount of time.
The exam will be flown on a 4-seater with retractable landing gear. This aircraft is rented by the candidate for the exam and E-Flight arranges an examiner. Billing of aircraft rental and examiner including the number of landings and fuel is done afterwards by E-Flight. - Can I fly commercially anywhere with my CPL?
With your CPL in your pocket you can fly commercially anywhere as long as it concerns a VFR operation. If the company in question also flies IFR, you may not be fully deployable. At E-Flight you can also get your IR(A).
If you want to be hired by a flying company with a multi-pilot operation you also have to take the MCC and UPRT course. If you have any questions about this please contact us!
