Ministry of Defence starts collaboration with E-Flight Academy

Teuge 07-09-2023 - The Ministry of Defence is entering into a partnership with E-Flight Academy. With this unique alliance, young aspiring pilots are immersed from the very beginning in the world of electric flying, an initiative that the Ministry of Defence embraces as a step towards a cleaner, quieter, and more sustainable future of aviation.

E-Flight Academy flies with 4 fully electric aircraft of the type Pipistrel Velis Electro. These have a flight time of 50 minutes plus 10 minutes reserve, making them ideal for flight training. This enables flight training to be conducted in an environmentally friendly and sustainable manner. 



Electric flight program
E-Flight Academy has developed an electric flight program specifically for the Ministry of Defence. This program includes introductory flights for aspiring pilots who have completed their first selection procedure. This allows them to get acquainted with electric flying from the start. In this way, they can experience how Defense is committed to new, quieter, and cleaner forms of flying. Additionally, an electric flying program is also offered for aspiring pilots who first follow a study within Defense after their selection. This program aims to keep them motivated towards achieving their ultimate goal: to become a pilot in Defense. 

From home base Teuge
The electric flying lessons for the Ministry of Defence They will be carried out at Teuge, the home base of E-Flight Academy. At E-Flight's high-end hangar E-Deck, flying is now fully powered by solar energy, with 530 solar panels and a huge battery storage system that supplies power to the flight operations.
